On Thursday, October 17, 2024, Seacoast Family Promise held the first open house for the Joshua House Expansion Project. Just prior to the event, John and Maggie Randolf of GSD Construction offered a $25,000 Challenge Match Grant to help raise funds as the project is nearing completion.
The $25,000 challenge could turn into $50,000 providing a significant boost in the fundraising efforts to expand the Joshua House and double the number of families we serve.
In the end, the total raised for the challenge grew to $39,000, brining in a total of $69,000 for the Joshua House. What an achievement by our friends and donors, and especially for GSD. Thank you!
GSD is doing the construction at the Joshua House (which is located at 480 Breakfast Hill Road, Greenland). The completed project will provide more needed bedrooms for families with children experiencing homelessness along with laundry facilities, common space, and a large eat-in kitchen. The final phase of the construction will upgrade the 100 plus year-old existing space.
"The Randolfs are an amazing couple who are dedicated to creating a better community for us all," said Seacoast Family Promise Executive Director Pati Frew-Waters. "They are also the developers of The Cottages at 54 Back River Road, Dover, where Seacoast Family Promise has begun a partnership which will continue to provide affordable housing for our families."
If you would like to join others in the Seacoast community who are making this vision come to life for the many families in need, please consider Seacoast Family Promise during this special season of end-of-year donations.
